Day duration: 10am - 5pm with a 1 hour lunch
This course is for students of all levels of experience. The course will focus on a variety of different elements, to help build a better all round understanding of the possibilities we have with hair.
We will look at the impact your decision making has on the outcome of your work. By analysing:
1. WHEN
2. WHY
3. HOW
We will also be exploring 4 core principles:
1. CHOICE OF LENGTH
2. STARTING POINT
3. ANGLE OF SECTIONS
4. TECHNIQUE
DAY 1 BREAK DOWN
10am - 11am: Lecture
Introduction to kings of tomorrow education. Understanding our approach to haircutting by exploring our ethos and core values.
11am - 1pm: First Demo
The cut will be focusing on longer lengths.
We will explore the importance of choice of length, starting point, angle of sections and technique. This will help you build a better understanding on how your decisions will effect your cut.
This demo will also highlight the importance of root movement, and what outcomes you can expect when being mindful of it, throughout certain scenarios of a haircut.
1pm - 2pm: lunch break
2pm - 4pm: Second Demo
The cut will showcase the possiblities we have to create any look we choose using our 4 key principles. This cut will have creative elements. The educator will breakdown:
1. Execution of technique
2. Decision making process
3. Zone mapping
4. Choice of length
5. Starting point
6. Angle of sections
7. techniques
4pm - 5pm: Round up
You will be verbally tested on what you have learnt.
Then as a team we will go through the answers, clarifying any grey areas.
DAY 2 BREAK DOWN
10am - 11am: Diagram break down
We will be cutting 2 shapes following pre-drawn diagrams. Using these diagrams we will follow mapped out sectioning patterns for cuts that will:
1. STAY CONSISTENT IN LENGTH
2. INCREASE IN LENGTH
3. DECREASE IN LENGTH
11am - 1:00pm: Practical
Each student will work on mannequin heads provided by Ego.
You will look to create the cuts by following the sections mapped out on the drawings.
Being able to go from visual representation to practical work, helping to cement your understanding.
1:00 - 2:00: Lunch
2:00 - 5:00: Practical
We will pick up from where we left off before lunch and look to complete the second shape before the end of the day. You will look to use your new found knowledge to be creative by drawing 2 of your very own haircuts. This will be given to you as homework by the end of the day.
DAY 3 BREAK DOWN
10:00am - 1:00pm: Becoming the Creator
You will look to begin your first haircut. Before doing so you will present your diagrams to the educator/educators, who will examine your diagrams and discuss the process for recreating the cuts. We will also incorporate texturising techniques along with styling tips to round off the look.
We will be monitoring:

6. ANGLE OF SECTIONS

1pm - 2pm: Lunch
2pm - 4pm: Becoming the Creator
You will look to complete the second haircut drawn by you after lunch.
We will also incorporate texturising techniques along with styling tips to round off the look.
4pm - 5pm: Round up
We will recap what we have learnt from the day.
Q&A session:
An opportunity to ask the educators anything regarding cuts from the day or anything barber industry related.
DAY 4 BREAK DOWN
10am - 11am: Lecture
Understanding our approach to haircutting and fading by exploring our ethos and core values.
11am - 1pm: First Demo
The cut will explore our fundamentals of fading the ego way. We will highlight the importance of the skulls anatomy to help with decision making for height of fade, choice of technique and method by numbers.
1pm - 2pm: Lunch break
2pm - 4pm: Practical Session
The cut will be focusing on the techniques from the demo in the morning. We will look to explore the importance of our fade process paired with our choice of length, starting point, angle of sections and technique for the top. Our educator / educators will help guide you throughout the process.
4pm - 5pm: Round up
We will recap what we have learnt from the day.
Q&A session: An opportunity to ask the educators anything regarding any aspect from the day or anything barber industry related.
DAY 5 BREAK DOWN
10am - 11am: Recap
We will recap what we learnt from the day before.
11am - 1pm: Practical Session
The cut will be focusing on both clipper and scissor work application, using your new found knowledge to deliver a well rounded competent haircut for your model.
1pm - 2pm: Lunch break
2pm - 4pm: Practical Session
The second and final haircut of the day. The cut will be focusing on both clipper and scissor work application, using your new found knowledge to deliver a well rounded competent hair cut for your model.
4pm - 5pm: Round up
We will recap what we have learnt from the last 5 days.
Q&A session: An opportunity to ask the educators anything regarding any aspect from the day or anything barber industry related.
Certification:
All students will be presented with an Ego barbers certificate.
